A bed & breakfast of distinction
catering to the discerning traveler and business-person. Located in the
heart of the Annapolis historic district, overlooking the US Naval
Academy, a short walk from St. John's College, the State Capitol, and the
City docks, The Gatehouse of Annapolis is an oasis for the connoisseur of
travel. The Gatehouse of Annapolis offers superior hospitality and
well-appointed accommodations for those who desire the highest level of
personal service, elegant surroundings, unparalleled ambiance, and
sumptuous cuisine prepared on the premises with the freshest ingredients
available.
The Gatehouse of Annapolis is a
classic Georgian-style townhouse that has been lovingly refurbished to
provide guests with an atmosphere of comfortable elegance, not unlike that
enjoyed by our Colonial forbearers who earlier walked these streets and
delighted in the ambiance of Annapolis.
The
welcoming parlor opens to a gracious dining room, dominated by a full-wall
brick fireplace with raised hearth. Each morning, in this room, breakfast
becomes an event, as travelers are acquainted over inn specialties
including Creme Brulee French toast, Scotch Eggs, Vermont cheddar omelets,
and Gatehouse specialty quiche. Freshly baked breads, French brioche
rolls, and seasonal fruits are among the daily offerings.
Incomparable coffee is served beneath the sounds of Vivaldi and the
unforgettable essence of the experience at The Gatehouse of Annapolis
becomes a reality.

From the Gatehouse of Annapolis, look left to the Severn River and College Creek. Perhaps you will see the Navy or the St. John's crew teams practicing. Across the street see the Officers' Club of the Naval Academy. Listen to the clock chimes, and look right to the Naval Academy
Chapel. |
